can anyone tell me what the shuttle bus is like ? is it ok ? are there plenty of them ? and at the worst how much would a taxi to Itzehoe be from Wacken (roughly) ?

as long as funeral fog exists, Mayhem will always be the best black metal band ever...

I mean, they fucking invented the sound after all

never used it - but it can´t be bad as so many ppl are using it! And they are going quite often I think. Shouldn´t be a problem at all
And a Taxi from Itze can´t be soo expensive... OK, Taxis ARE expensive in germany, but it´s not sooo far - dunno, but I think the busses are a good thing! :)

I'm going next year, and hopefully i'll be living even closer to Wacken then. *grins*

And this about sexual needs? If you realoly want to have sex, you don't give a shit about what's happening outside the tent. Well i don't. *have had the tent falling down over them 'cause of that* And we didn't get out until we was done. :) But then Norwegians are a bit different from the rest. :))

Tent's are ok, but the tent should not be one of them with just one piece of cloth. *have learned that now*

Buy a cheap tent and you don't even need to pack it down when you're leaving. :)

@Witchfinder I went by plane to hamburg via dusseldorf..and booked it about to weeks b4 so it was a bit expensive...and i also has to fly from fucking birmingham which meant i got to thea airport at 1.00am sunday and had to wait about 9 hours for the flight..argh that was pure hell...and my walkman bust before i left from the coach from leeds so i was even more fuming

Camping is much better it has a better party atmosphere plus the bar doesnt shut when it has to...camp parties go on all night..i love camping at festivals you get to meet much more cool people and have a great time...i think that you should try and book a flight a few months in advance and then it could be cheaper which is what i will do i think...

And btw if you wanna meet sometime for beer let me know :D

Hey guys, I've been back in Australia for a week now and it's kinda depressing...where's the metal! Actually, I got off the plane, got a few hours sleep and went to a metal show-the cd launch of Dungeon \m/ YAY!

It's in my blood! I really want to go again WOA2003 but only time and money will tell. I agree with evenfiel - it's an expensive trip! Not to mention a bloody long flight (23 hours). I know I'll do things very different next year if I do go.

sisterofnight
I was in contacts the whole festival and I had no problems...but then I did have hand wipes and a bottle of water in my tent (plus I showered LOL). If you don't use daily disposables, it might be worth getting some to cover you in these circumstances. I know you can get them in boxes of as little as 10 here.

Cruel Humanity
4 of us caught a train from Hamburg to Amsterdam after Wacken. It was an IC (or ICE) train and it only took 5 hours. It was very upmarket and very comfortable.

The shuttle buses from Itzehoe to Wacken (about 2.40 Euro each way) looked like the city buses and weren't as frequent as I expected. I assumed the shuttle buses were operated by the organisers. We arrived on the day of the football game and headbangers ball. The buses were severely crowded and we didn't fit on the first bus, so had to wait about 45 min for the next.

Same deal for leaving the festival-there just weren't enough shuttle buses leaving (IMO) plus there was no shelter from the rain to wait for the next bus. We ended up getting a taxi to Itzehoe. It cost 25 Euro but 4 people split the cost.

mugabe
how old is too old? More than 35? ;)

Stratovarius! I love 'em. I was lucky enough to meet Timo this year-what a cool guy!

I jealous you went to Summerbreeze. I ended up going to the Vienna Metalfest instead. I was really pissed off that Paradise Lost was announced at the last minute :( I could have seen them and Sentenced (plus Edguy & Nightwish) But I did get to see Tiamat and Hollenthon.

The forum camp was really cool! I would have liked to have met more of you, but as it was I was barely near my tent during the day.

Sodomy&Lust
:D re your needs - WE MANAGED! ;)

Pil & Warthog
I believe Nightwish and Rose Tattoo have played 2 Wackens in a row

Blackwizard69
YOU'RE A WHOOS! ;) :D I'm older than you, a girl and I managed camping and my tent leaked! :D I still managed to have a hot shower every day and ate a good breakfast each morning! :D haha but that was my choice. I actually didn't want to stay in a hotel so I wouldn't miss the festival spirit.

PLUS I had cool people around my tent-xpet and evenfiel :D (minus the mud monster)

As for next year W.A.S.P and Stryper :D would be awesome! LOL. More death metal? I dunno ;) Doesn't the Summerbreeze festival cater better to it? You know there are still rumours everywhere about a Priest/Halford reunion....

I didn't have enough time to do everything-there was so much on (which wasn't a bad thing). Did anyone else feel that way at the festival?

I was actually very impressed at the food available at the festival. It was really nutritious compared to the crap we get at festivals here. I didn't have to worry about cooking anything which was a good thing because I couldn't get into the supermarket anyway. I was even able to buy fruit!

Well there was enough food and beer around but is was quite expensive. Can't help thinking those food guys used the Euro as an excuse to increase their prices. The same thing happened to the prices of the parking tickets :confused
