We Have Arrived was Dark Angel's first album, my friend, and it was brutal (well, at least for those days...). Followed by an even more brutal "Darkness Descends" a couple of years later. I remember DA were one of the few thrash bands to emerge from the LA area (well...together with Slayer, of course...), almost exclusively poser territory at that time.
I heard the rumor that they had re-formed as well, but I have no confirmation. It would be great if it's true.

Good fucking news!!!! It's TRUE!!!!!!

This is from Blabbermouth.net:

DARK ANGEL: San Francisco Headlining Gig Announced - Aug. 28, 2002

The reformed DARK ANGEL — featuring guitarists Jim Durkin and Eric Meyer, vocalist Ron Rinehart, and drummer Gene Hoglan — are due to perform a headlining show at the Pound in San Francisco, California on Saturday, December 7th, according to the club's official web site. A headlining date at The Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, California on December 6th is also said to be in the works. Additional west coast gigs are expected to take place around the same time.

As previously reported, DARK ANGEL are strongly rumored to be planning a surprise appearance (likely for only one or two songs) at the September 30th show by KREATOR/DESTRUCTION at The Galaxy Theater, where Durkin's new band DREAMS OF DAMNATION are scheduled to perform as one of the support acts.

Oh shit, this is fucking brilliant...I hope they tour as well. I'm hurting for some classic THRASH.

Now all we need to do is get Death Angel to do a proper reunion & tour. :D

@ Witchfinder,

If you're gonna check out any of their old material, Leaave Scars, the third album, kills as well. I'll believe they're reforming with the original line-up only when I see them...I would give my right arm to see them live at Wacken next year.

Same goes for Death Angel, even though I really really liked only their first album. Another great band that has re-formed are Vio-lence. They played at the Milwaukee Metal Fest a few months ago and are working on a new album.

This can be arranged! *starts up the chainsaw*

I'll concur though - Leave Scars is my favorite Dark Angel album. Hell, Time Does Not Heal is worth a listen too!

And Death Angel...yeah, The Ultra-Violence is fucking classic! Frolic Through the Park is pretty fuck good too, though...especially if you skip over "Bored", lol!

Does anyone like Forbidden here? It's a band who's unfortunantly more known for lending their players to more famous bands like Nevermore, Slayer and Testament then for their music. Almost al their albums are considered Trashclassics, espically their "Forbidden Evil" album. I consider them one of the best trashmetalbands ever to emerge from the Bay area. A really technical skilled and talented band who never made it big..
