Ciao to everybody! I've seen this post quoted several time but I don't understand if this calculation is correct or not.
I mean, how many announcements should we expect from now on?

wacken 2012 we had 137 Bands in the billing.

i´d say the same we will have in 2014

right now there like 64 Bands confirmed.

30 Bands will be the Metal Battle

137 -64 -30 = 43 Bands left.

Well, we have about 130 to 140 bands in total (amount taken from the past years). 30 Metal Battle participants is fact by now to be part of that number (check metal-battle.com). Right now 64 acts have already been announced. So there should be another 35 to 45 band announcements, including crap like Blechblosn, or something like Wacken Firefighters. I bet on at least 20 further bands, which can be seen as ok or great.

the main stages are already pretty packed. there are approximately 6-8 slots left for infield stages (True Metal Stage, Black Stage, Party Stage)

~ 20 bands for tent stages (W.E.T. & Headbanger's Stage)

~ 30 Metal Battle competitors

the remaining slots will be filled with Beergarden Acts, medievals acts (Wackinger Stage), walking acts, maybe more comedy and spoken word performances.

Let it come down to abt. ten bands, there should be five to ten WOW bands, which are totally ok and awesome! You're most welcome, my friend.

More exact than my post.
I don't think we'll get more than one comedian in advance. Perhaps two Spoken Words to the max. That's (hopefully) gonna be it.

longstanding Wacken experience.
most of the bands played Wacken before on the main stages, so they'll presumably play there again. MasterChu made a "stage prediction" one page ahead.
Also Wacken-Jasper (board admin who works for ICS) said the main stages are pretty packed, but there'll be some great bands left.

I'm maybe getting out of the topic, but I'm so concerned about the line-up because I'm bringing my 16 years old son to Wacken next year and I'm dreaming of the greatest festival of all... Ah, these fathers...

Yeah, we're not pretty sure yet, which bands they're gonna pack on the main stages anyway. It's just rumours by now, you know. But as my predecessor said, it's experience. We're pretty experienced around here, with Wackentom's nearly two decades Wacken experience, it's gonna be my own sixth, and well, I don't really know who's gone how often.

But I do get you're good at getting the point of the German posts! Please take our token of respect to have answered you in English, brother of steel!

Makes absolutely sense. I've been to 2005 edition and that's my only experience at Wacken so far. But the festival grew up considerably since then.
But, please, keep writing in german. It's the german forum after all...

Deren Texte kenn ich vermutlich mittlerweile besser als die selbst...und jeder regelmäßige Wackenbesucher auch....ganz ehrlich, wenn ich die Wahl hätte, abends zum Training zu gehen oder mir Saxon oder Motörhead hier in der Stadt anzuschauen...ich würde das Training wählen....und schon gar nicht würde ich für diese Sonderposten 170€ ausgeben...King Diamond natürlich ausgenommen^^

Aber ganz ehrlich, wenn das ein würdiges Billing sein soll....und ich rede da nicht mal von einem Jubiläumsbilling....dann ist das mehr als armselig. Das ist noch schlechter als das im letzten Jahr.
Keine einzige namhafte gute Doomband, keine namhafte gute Pagan/Wikingband, mit Behemoth eine einzige taugliche Blackmetalband, der Rest nur die üblichen 08/15-Bestätigungen mit Megadeth und King Diamond als einzig echte besondere bands...wenn man sie mag...Junge, so viel Fanboy kann man gar nicht sein, um das noch schön zu reden...und bei dem Billing nimmt mir auf der Tauschbörse ja auch niemand das Ticket ab

nur seltsam das soviele leute in der börse warten weil die mit dem billing jetzt schon was anfangen können...seltsam oder ?
