Okay you've got one accout of it, I might have another.

The point is, there was a leader who was progressive, and he was attacked by a group of soldiers motivated by the Koran. And then the Western forces thought to train and arm these religious fighters.

the west is not training these guys at all.
the west is training the FSA and the YPG - which both are not religious motivated groups. (I personally don't think that training them is helping the situation at all, but get your facts straight before dumping your bullshit online)

The West was definitely in Jordan training people to fight in the Syrian civil war, because I was there training them.

The Free Syrian Army are all religiously motivated, and have probably joined ISIS by now.

I mean how do you think your government would try to put down a rebellion. It would probably be quite dramatic and violent I imagine. It doesn't matter how you frame this, it's a fight against the people who are religous fanatics, and the others.

I'm not arguing you on this, mostly since the whole war hes evolved.
but I do need to remind you that "and the others" in this matter is actually for a big part the civilian population.

And whoever they are fighting this does not mean that people fleeing this war aren't refugees.

the FSA aren't religious motivated as a group, they are a coalition of all differend kinds of opposition groups with differend backgrounds, some religous some not. and they do however work together with religous motivated groups.

but if you train them, and you don't agree with it, then why the hell don't you quit your fucking job... :o

I did quit!

I've been out the British Army for about 6 months.

My belief is, that national borders must be respected. Merkel says every country must take their 'fair share'. But what kind of pressure will that place on us all? I now work for the British NHS, and I can tell you, we don't need any more people added on to the waiting list. All of these people that you have invited, need healthcare, homes, education

... I think it's pretty obvious

good to hear about quitting your job!

what I understand of the NHS is that it needs more funding, and this has been the case for a long time.
This is not the refugees fault, the UK has barely even taking in any people, blame your own government on cutting taxes for the rich and making ordinary people pay the price!

And this is what most people forget, for every x amount of people you take in to your country, there will be doctors and nurses and other caretakers among them. it's not like all of a sudden all syrian doctors are like "fuck this shit, I'm not going to be a doctor in this country". make us of them, and the share of patients per doctor/nurse won't change at all.

the NHS needs more funding - the UK government is £1.5 trillion pounds in debt

the UK provides more foreign aid to refugees than any other country. The problem we've got is my refugee is your economic migrant.

England is the most densely populated country in Europe, and the UK will leave the EU, and procure the workers it needs through a points system.

the Uk does provide a lot of foreign aid, this is true.
But the problem is, the countries where the refugees are at the moment can't cope with them anymore, more than money is needed.

to give you an idea, Lebanon, with a population of about 4 million people, is helping an estimated 1.5 million refugees at this moment.

turkey, which has about the same size population as Germany has 2,748,367 registered refugees.

Jordan with a population of about 9 million has taken in 1.25 million refugees.

The Uk has taken about 9000 refugees from syria so far. that is quite a gap.
Some european countries haven't taken in any.
If we all take a small portion, and by "we" I mean a big part of the world including countries like japan, russia, USA, australia, this crisis would become manageable quit fast. but everybody is pointing to others.

The thing is, I don't care about refugees. Have you never noticed that countries have borders? That's because they establish legal systems within those borders, after hundreds of years of customs.

You clearly don't give a toss about any of that, because you want to give a green light to anyone that is in need. You will bring about your own ruin if you do that.

that's not my fault, that certain politicians chose to invade other lands.

The idea of the nation state still holds true. Nothing happens, without the will of the people.

And your Mother Merkel can fuck off

It is when you're in an army that invades those countries. you my "friend" are the biggest hypocrite I have yet encountered on this board, not something to be proud of.
