Newbie introductions

I want to thank everybody for the help.
We managed to book us an hotel in Buessum, and we are very much looking forward to this year`s Wacken.
Funny thing is, I`m so into metal again, that I even bought tickets to this year`s Graspop, but that one I`m doing alone with my son, so nu fuzz with the wheelchair.

Not yet, still in doubt, week before is Bospop, with some nice bands on Sunday.
A lot will depend on the time tables

Since I don't live in the Netherlands anymore, Bospop is out of the question.
But I won't be in Graspop either. I'm going to Hellfest.
I will be in Eindhoven though.

Happy for you! Last year was my first Wacken too and I loved it!! I cannot make it this year but hopefully next year.

Ah awesome, how did you find it?

No beer as iv never really tried it, always went for cider. Never know wacken may convert me as it seems cider isnt a thing. Got to love a good dark rum!

The best outdoor festival I've attend. Well.. nothing compare to our festival in north america (no campground, cannot bring you're own alcool, more expensive, etc..) One thing that I regret the most - I did not camp on site yeah I know.. Everyone told me that I was doing a mistake. I rented an appartment in Itzehoe (last train station before Wacken). Let me say, it suck when you're drunk and you have to catch the last shuttle bus at 2am...

Besided that, I love all 4 days I was there. Being 40y old with children(1), 4 days alone is like a whole month of vacations

You are young, get the most of it (and other festivals too!!)

Ahhh that must of sucked staying at a hotel and having to leave early, but least you went Yeah i can imagine it must of been a nice get away.

Yeah im going to make the most of it as much as i can. It will be my 10th festival and first one not in the uk so im really looking forward to it

Any reason you never had beer?

Not really just never really had the urge to get one. Iv had a banana beer before which was great but i dont class that as "beer" beer. However i will be trying some at Wacken as theres no better place to start.

Well, it's not that I won't enjoy having a drink with you, it's just that we won't have the same drink! Though that's not possible this year.

As to banana beer, it's a beer as any other beer, just with bananas in it. The Belgians drink cherry beer (kriek), and I know a local brewery that makes strawberry beer. Yammie!
