Guten tag, fuckers.

Age: 25

Location: Northeastern US

Metal: If it sounds like it's from the 80s, I'm all over it. Can't get enough of the retro 80s heavy/speed style. Also enjoy the old school DM sound with a smattering of black thrashy-sounding bands.

Beer: Ideally, the kind of alcohol in it. From tepid piss-water to the super-fancy hoppy IPAs you non-Americans can't have any of =), I will indiscriminately imbibe all styles. I snub my nose at no beer. Same with hard liquor, there's none I won't drink.

Wacken: 1st time. I'm beyond elated. Sadly it's only me. At the time the line-waiting for tickets occurred, the one friend who would have came just didn't have the money for it. Regardless I can't wait for this. There's nothing stateside like this and most likely won't be for a long time. After Wacken I'm also planning to spend 3 weeks backpacking in the area. Still working on the itinerary, I'm thinking at the very least I want to hit Belgium/Netherlands/Austria/maybe Switzerland.

Welcome to the forum! We won't bite, so join us on the "hot tub".

And I can recommend Belgium, the beer museum in Brugge/Bruges for instance. Been there. It is nice. €11 entrance with 3 dégustation coins for the bar. (2015)
Brussels, the Grand Place, Hard Rock Cafe there, Manneken Pis and the bar across the statue.

Don't worry about going alone, I'm sure you'll meet a lot of new people in Wacken!

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation. The more beer-centric stops, the better. Definitely planning to check out some breweries/monasteries.

And to the other 2 guys, thanks!

Beer Museum Brugge/Bruges (you'll notice quickly enough that Belgian cities have TWO names!): www.brugesbeermuseum.com
Breidelstraat 3
8000 Brugge (Bruges)

Delirium Tremens (café, not the beer!): www.deliriumcafe.be
Getrouwheidsgang / Impasse de la Fidèlité, 4
1000 Brussels.
And the particular street is HORRIBLE to find, but once you do, it's there! And you're near Jeanneke Pis as well.

Interesting:
Poechenellekelderke, www.poechenellekelder.be
Eikstraat / Rue du Chêne 5
1000 Brussels.
Directly opposite of Manneken Pis.
