The USA is not a democracy, it's a republic. We vote for people to represent us and make decisions in Washington DC. If it was a purely democratic state, all 280 million people would vote on every single decision. And that's just fucking impossible. It's hard enough for them to vote for a president every four years.

The good folks at the CIA (http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/ez.html#Govt) tell me you're a parliamentary democracy, which is the same idea: you vote for people to represent you in your Parlament and they in turn elect a president. You don't vote directly on national decisions. Again, for a nation of 10 million, that would be impossible.

Then you have the outrage of the U.S. public over the Iraqi not being grateful, and it being typical of the muslims. I've also followed the discussion of torture prior to the photographic evidence of last weeks, and the consensus seems to be that it's ok if it may save American lives.

Damn skippy! What amazes me still is how many Bush supporters like to prattle on about how we're great it is that we're liberating Iraq and in the same breath grumble about how they'd like to kill all those "fucking raghead terrorist sand niggers".

Oh yeah, can't forget some diatribe about how all you Euro sissies can go fuck yourselves if you don't like it. You're all just jealous because you can't flex your military muscle the way the USA can. We're #1 yay!

Never mind that half the grown adults in the US couldn't pick France or Germany out on a map if it wasn't marked.

As much as I may not think much of John Kerry, I'd like to see him elected just to get all these jingoistic bastards to shut the fuck up already. I love my country, and have no shame of it, but I can't fucking stand a lot of the people who live here... and I'm pissed as all hell that a bunch of so-called patriots in the government are too damn dumb to see how they're unwittingly destroying the USA.

Hey this reminds me about what my mom told me, that we are have less people with AIDS than people from other countries from Europe

Ok well ok we dont wont pretty much at all But it doesnt matter cause we have the second president since Czechoslovakia split and I mean, he is normal. He has economy college and he knows pretty well, that czech people are pretty moody and if they would even try to take some freedom for them, they would protest as hell.FOr example when there was anti globalization meeting in Prague, they destroyed everything around, especially cars and Mc Donalds

Yes, it's weird, considering the entire operation is aimed at liberating the long-suffering friends of the American people - the Iraqi. We all were deeply moved when the U.S. stood up for the freedom of Kuwait a couple of years ago.

Has there ever been a successful case of democracy being forced upon a nation, btw, other than in the shape of puppet regimes?

I still love my country,too.Remember when you showed me the American flag & I told you to put it away?I didn't want to see you become a target for any nastyness.I slowly becoming a ex-patriot.I look around & I see nothing but bullshit being thrown all around by OUR elected officals( both Dem. & Rep.).I told friends & family that the 1st oppertunity(sp) I get,I'm moving to Europe.Bush has the oil companies in his back pocket(I've hearing about him wanting to drill on a Fed. Wildlife Reserve in Alaska),he's throwing up smoke screen after smoke screen(the FCC,Same Sex Marriage,etc.)to cover up what a mess we did in Iraq( it is the new Viet Nam).My dad is a ex Marine(he did a tour in Nam),& even he told me that the war was wrong.You can't trust the main stream media here(Fox News Channel is very conservative & CNN is very liberal).Bush won't even open the doors to stem cell research that could save millions of lives(from what I'm hearing,Christopher Reeves is in Isreal where they're making leaps & bounds with stem cell research).
