Anyone here ever tried Russian beer?

Quite good, I must say! :D *well, at least a few brands are*.

I've tried Saku Originaal from Estonia, which at least used to be part of old Russia.

Don't think I've ever tried anything from Russia though.

Under the sign of the Octagon
Ex-USSR stuff is a mystery to me, except for a few Ukrainian brands.
("Obolon" is OK, others ain't even worth mentioning.)

My homecity in Russia is sorta famous for its beer ("Golden Barrel")... yeah!

Yesterday Julbrew from Gambia.
It was okay, but not good. You can drink it, if you drink too much. :D

I've had four beers so far tonight, or actually half beers, since I shared them all with a friend.

1)
Underlig Jul from Nögne Ö, Norweigen micro brewery. Bottle 500 ml 6.5% ABV
A very nice spicy Christmas brew, really the way I like it, almost as good as the one I made for 2005

2)
Julenatt from Nögne Ö. Bottle 500 ml 6.0% ABV. A rather boring porter-ish beer with little to say for itself.

3)
Fallen Angel Bitter from Jämtlands Bryggeri in Sweden. Bottle of 500 ml 5.0% ABV. Taste a bit like Spitfire, Bishops Finger och Kilkenny, can't really decide. I don't quite like any of those three, or this one...

4)
Jämtlands President Lager from Jämtlands Bryggeri. Bottle of 500 ml 5.2% ABV. Very nice lager, feels a lot like the Czech excellent lager Budejovicky Budvar.
