isn't it
Der Hund --> Der Hundin
but e.g. Der Papagei (ending with "ei")
Die Hündin
Mein Deutsch ist bad?!?, aber ich zu lernen!! I think!
so my mom is wrong bout that one
gonna rub it in...
"der Hündin" is existing, but only as Genitiv or Akkusativ. As Nominativ (which is the normal form), it is "die" with every female word.
The Kasus ("Fälle") of a female word:
Nominativ (Wer?) die
Genitiv (Wessen?) der
Dativ (Wen?) die
Akkusativ (Wem?) der
sn't it also an idea to do the same for "male", "neutral" and plural words?
And more inportant, when to use them? (that will be the most difficult part though for many, including myself)
can I do some kind of table in here?
you could have done that already
male:
Nominativ der
Genitiv des (here you also have to change the word. e.g. "der Mann" -> "des Mannes")
Dativ den
Akkusativ dem
neutral:
Nominativ das
Genitiv des (same here: "das Kind" -> "des Kindes")
Dativ das
Akkusativ dem
I can't explain spontaneous when to use it btw. That's what I wanted to look up though.
Plural:
Nominativ die
Genitiv der
Dativ die
Akkusativ den (here a "n" must be put behind the word. Die Kinder -> den Kindern, exception: das Auto -> den Autos (words ending with "s")
this is the same with all genders btw.
