Before getting to Wacken I will have roughly 2 and a half weeks in scandanavia to travel. My plan is to fly into Helsinki then go to Stockholm, Goteborg, and finally through Copenhagen on my voyage to Wacken. Is 2.5 weeks ample time for this and any reccommendations of things to check out while I'm there. I bought a book on these countries but haven't had much time to read it since I'm in my last semester of engineering and mostly focus on my school work. I am just trying to get an insiders view on my travel plans.
Right.
So what are your plans for the different cities?
Mainly metal stuff?
Mainly drinking stuff?
Mainly playing tourist stuff?
I used to live in Stockholm for 7 years and now live in Göteborg for about 1 year, so I might be able to help you out with specific questions.
My recommendations on traveling:
From Helsinki, take the ferry to Stockholm.
From Stockholm, take the train to Göteborg (book early = far less money)
From Göteborg either train or plane to Köpenhamn, depending on your budget.

If you want to know about beer drinking, I can tell you the best places in Stockholm and Göteborg, where you can find the best beers.
I have some info regarding Copenhagen as well.
I think 2 and a half weeks should be enough.
Lets say you plan to spend 3 whole days in each city, then one day of travel before each city, and one last day after Copenhagen, it should add up to 17 days total.
What you will notice is probably that the cost for rooms and eating out will be quite high, as will be drinking and to some extent traveling.
My advice is to plan and book the rooms long ahead, and also the different journyes as kyou get the best price when you book early.
So, if you think about the above info and check out the web sites, you're welcome to get back to me with any questions, at least regarding Stockholm and Göteborg, and any other questions concerning Sweden.
