]If your not into camping I think your best bet is to try the Itzhoe Hostel. I don't think they are taking reservations so showing up early could score you a cheap bed if your lucky.

Greetings LXE (and all North American and other metal fiends)! Thanks for the post. My German friend who I will attend Wacken with me has made lodging arangements for us in Itzehoe, so everything is set. Look for me, at Wacken, I'll most likely be the only one wearing a hat that says Hawaii on it!
