Here fast food restaurants have started blending or replacing iceberg lettuce with cabbage because lettuce just got too expensive. Apparently the floods at the beginning of the year did a real number on the crops.
At one point it could cost up to $12 (about 8 euro) for a head of lettuce at the supermarket...that is, if they bothered to stock any in the first place. It's not so bad now but still twice the normal price. Now for some reason there are supply issues with eggs.
And yes, the vomit inducing fuel prices...like something out of a horror film. It made me glad I was able to work from home while it lasted.
