Last year, I had really good intention to learn german. I downloaded the Rosetta stone stuff but I didn't really put the effort into it.

Like Alix said, when you're on site, everyone want to speak in english and the best part, we don't speak perfectly and everyone can understand each other! That is so cool!

Yeah I wish it was easy like that :ugly:

I just listened to Rammstein A LOT, especially when I was young; definitely got my pronunciation going :ugly: While I was over there, most people don't even let me practice :o It's always "I want to practice my English", "I like speaking English", "here, we have a menu in English", or when I give it a go, they sit there giggling and when I ask what's so damned funny, they say "no, it's nice!" :o The kitchen lady at Headbangers Open Air let me practice a little bit, and corrected me without overtly judging me :)

Where do you find these people?

I can´t find almost any people who would speak english. They all speak german even if they would be able to speak english too. And lot of people actually don´t really speak english, few words and that´s it. I must be living in a weird place or something. :ugly:

Tip, it's closer by then you think.

Read the German forum!!! See if you can understand it! (especially handy if you plan on doing other festivals, there's plenty of them)

I have done that I can understand some by now but people use so much slang words and half sentences that it is bit harder to understand than books etc. :)
