ASP, BMTH, BFMV, callejon, and some more are GAY and have NOTHING !! to do with REAL METAL! It's just annoying.
In 2007 we were 30 people and in 2008 even 40 or more (Alltime drunk, couldnt really count :p) ... Now we're 8 or 9 left, other's laughing at us.
I really hope the next Bands will (They must.) be AWESOME!.

Well... It's not the best billing ever, but I think it's okay.
In my oppinion there are at least some good bands like Amon Amarth or Volbeat, so you won't be bored. :p And the best time is still at the camping place!

(Sorry, my English isn't that good. ^^)

the billing is ok. but it was supposed to be 20th anniversary, best metal fest in the world, etc...
compare to last years, too.
compare with other fests...

and if there's no more headliner to add, why not just tell it officially, publish the rest of the filling bands, so that all's said, no more speculations, those who want to sell their tickets can do so.

Yeah, you're right, they should tell us if there are still some impressive bands to come and actually the 20th anniversary should be something special, but I think we can exspect a very funny W:O:A.
So let's rock and we can still hope for better billings in the next years!

Yeah. Great! Ever thought about the possibility that WACKEN also may celebrate the people (and bands) who MADE it big as it is today? Us? The first Generation? Hm??? And that Wacken may thank us? US? Hm?

*nerd*
Most of disappointed people only miss a few extreme headliners like those of the past years (Immortal, Emperor, Carcass, Morbid Angel, CC, Opeth, etc...)

I really don't get into RW, Saxon and that old 80s crap, but I see it pleases a lot of old-school fans, so that's ok.

But really, that line-up needs a few extreme headliners. No one can headline the black stage right now.
And the black stage did also a lot of good to WOA I guess, as well as foreigners who are not into german speed/power/callitwhateveryoulike metal.

edit : if I don't cancel, it will be my first WOA. But I remember 8 or 9 years ago, I began thinking about going, and every year, I postponed, having better things to do than 2000+ km to go.
By that time, WOA was really big compared to the rest, the only fest with such an international aura.
It's over now. Just a good fest amongst other. And this year the line-up (as it is right now) is no match for many other fests.
Despite the ticket price increase.
Despite the 20th anniversary hype THEY insisted on

YOU think so. Let me explain: Black Stage does NOT mean automatically there HAVE to be BM-Bands! 20 years ago BM even didn´t exist!!

Nuff said.

Really. Don´t you think you sound WAY to wanting???

In fact I'm speaking about an extreme headliner, not only a BM one.
And by the way, we can find good BM records in the late 80s ;)

If you read this thread a little more, you'll see I am far from being the only one thinking that way, really.

What's wrong with hoping for a band like Immortal, Emperor, CC, Behemoth, Carcass, Obituary, ... ? Look at WOA 2006, 2007, 2008.
I mean there are headliners in the power metal genre, right. I don't like them, but I'm ok with that. Motorhead, H&H fine too.

WOA has been gathering people from different genres over the past years, right ? And this year it looks like all the headliners are on the mellower side. That's weird.

I may be a total newbie, but looking at the past years, I feel like Wacken already hired extreme headliners. Really.

Oh and by the way, if this year's WOA was supposed to be a big old-school metal fest, why not. But it would've been good to announce it at the very beginning, don't you think ?
