Great idea!!!! Hey, what about Japanese translations? I met more than 15 Japanese people at WOA this year, and I think it'll be even more as we go forward (There were some last year too). Japanese people are generally not very good at English. It would be great if I could help our guys with translations from English to Japanese (I'm trying to learn some German, though). Let me know your thoughts on this.

Hi Wani

Cool, Japanese people in our forum! Your help is of course much appreciated. This week-end I'm going to meet some people, and then I'll know how I want to organize this.

Still, the biggest question at the moment for me is - what information for foreigners is absolutely vital at a festival? Is it the Shuttle-Bus-Services, location of hospital tents/vendors/information points?

But glad to hear that you would be on board. Thx a lot.

Cu round

Don't know about really vital, but would have helped me out alot this year, it being my first time and all:

* Location of information booth and clarification that this is where you exchanged your ticket for a bracelet.

* Distance to supermarket in town and apporximate location.

* Distance to, and number of, money machines.

* Is is possible to get a taxi? The only ones I saw this year were driving poeple to other money machines for 5 €.

* Information about where running order changes are located/posted.

Other info that I guess would be much appreciated if needed are as you said:

* Location of Shuttle-Bus-Services

* Location of hospital tents

Hi Monochrom!!!

I enter into this forum not very regularly,but one or two times per week. I can also help with the translation into Spanish( will we be then 4 people) and also into French (I'm half Spanish half French). It'll be a pleasure for me and I think it is a great and very helpful idea for people who don't speak German.

Tschüss!!!!

Thx a lot again - so we got french, too. Very cool.

And Gnoff - thanks so much. I actually think that this is THE LIST that I needed. I'll try to get translations for these things into the booklets of Full Force, Wacken, Summer-Breeze and Bang Your Head. And then there is the idea with the Line-Up-Board at the entrance to all the festivals. Would be helpful for us germans too.

Tomorrow I'm going to Summer-Breeze, slaughtering people with Belphegor, tripping on Tiamat, moshing it up with Samael ...

And of course work on the booklet project.

You guys are great, this actually seems a lot easier than first expected.

I'd love to go to summer breeze as well, lots and lots of great bands going!
Saw that even Pizzin Razors are coming, would be fucking cool to see those guys.

Oh well, need to save up for Wacken next year :)

Have a great time though!!

Oh well, I'm not going so I guess it will be ok on my part :)

But with, Hypocrisy, Pain, Dimmu Borgir, Tiamat, Nightwish, Edguy, Vader, Soliwork and so many others, there are a lot of great bands still.

Italian Translation

Hello Monochrom!

I´m sure you can also ask MAIDEN for the Italian Translation. She is from Rome and I´m sure she would help you with this matter.

I´m thinking of more informations you can add. I will let you know as soon as I have something.

Have a nice trip to Summer Breeze!

See you!

Just took a look at some typical german festival booklets. Hmm, not too much place for foreign language information, and only in mediocre english. Seems that they normally have about a page for their non-german-speaking customers. So, it'll probably look something like this - we try to get this one page as useful as possible, with 4 or 5 languages. BUT in this space we could tell people how to get to the inormation point, and there we could have DINA4-Pages with all the useful information in any language we get in this forum. Sounds good?

Of course I'll try to get two pages, but that sounds expensive.

O.K., I'm going to do a "Maiden and Thordis, please help me" - posting.

Thx once again

@gnoff
It's just you know, that the festivals are very different sizes. With Wacken (it's sooo international) there should be more and better information IN the booklet, at Summer-Breeze I guess the handout idea would work best, it's very easy to get around.
