Hey guys,

I was at last years Wacken but I did not camp. I stayed in a hotel in Wilster. This year I want to camp but have a question. When is the first data that you can set up your tents at Wacken?

If you guys have any other tips for first time campers at Wacken I would appreciate that aswell.

Cheers

Camping is allowed:
- officially: from Wednesday
- inofficially: they won't kill you even if you come on Sunday...but if you come before Tuesday (?), they charge another fee

Camping isn't as hard as it may seem.

Most important: a complete tent and a sleeping bag and something for isolation under the sleeping bag.

Recommended: a small barbecue/grill/whatever it is called in English. BBQ on WOA is a lot of fun. You'll get meat at the local supermarket.

Hey Kate,

I read a reply of yours to one of my posts on Iced Earth. How long you been a fan?
Iced Earth was the first metal band I liked. That was when the Horror Show album was released...i.e. well over two years ago.
And I still like them...*sigh*...though I needed some time until I had "accepted" Ripper as their new singer. :)

tell me about it. I absolutely hated Demolition with Tim, and I was horrified when I heard Matt had left Iced Earth and then Tim joined Iced Earth. I thought that's it Iced Earth may die a horribel death. Jon would never give up but without Matt...?

Tim seriously kicks ass on TGB.

I got into Iced Earth about a year before Horror Show. I think, I got to see their first appearance in England which was awesome and cannot wait to see them in March (Bigger venue!)

STAY METAL!

well I had expected that I would NOT like TGB...but it's OK, though not my favourite IE album.
So I guess I've got to see them in Nuremberg on March 2 or something like that...where I've seen them already in 2002 (my first bigger metal concert... :D). It's a Friday or Saturday anyway, and the ticket price has almost remained stable since 2002, so I think there's hardly any reason for NOT going there ;)

taking those is not always easy when travelling from overseas...plus the lines at the local markets are always evil, so if you'd rather be watching bands instead of lining up like Russians for food, I suggest you rely on the festival food...you'll be ok with pound:euro conversion

in 2002 I bought a BBQ at the Walmart near Hamburg before WOA and found only 1 time to use it at about 2 am... the rest of the time I was too busy watching all the bands
