As for beer with artificial flavors therein, I can but agree...
I only know that Belgian Kriek stuff, by Bellevue.
I don't know if that is what you mean, but it was really horrible. I think the guy who made it, had a beer wile brewing, and that is why they call it beer.

They have two different ones, one is sour cherry and the other artificial sweet.

But Kriek is a cherry sort which can be found near the river "de Zenne" near Brussels. It's got a different kind of taste, and it's very suited to brew beer with. Note that there is no French word for Kriek either, the French also call it Kriek.
And I like Kriek.

Had a Potts Pils from Oelde, Westfalen a few minutes ago.
Not as much hops as a Pils from the north of Germany but much better as the crap from the nearby Sauerland like Krombacher, Warsteiner or *üüüääärgs* Veltins.
Now it´s Newcastle Brown Ale. Okay, but why don´t we get some real good stuff from Englands north here like Samuel Smith or Wylam....
