Under the sign of the Octagon
In the hot summer of 2003 I worked at a brewery in my hometown... and besides work, I was busy with a certain paperwar.
The brewery is in the outskirts of the city, so almost every day I had to get a couple hours off and go to the inner city and proceed with said paperwar.
Guess what, every time, after my business in the inner city was over, I dropped in at a summer cafe and had a nice cold beer w/some snack... and only after that, I went back to work.
Sure as shit, in a brewery they do have this "breath-tube testing" at the entrance - but for those working in the production lines. I sat in the back office and didn't have to care.... :D

The funniest thing is, just a few months later, when my contract was about to expire (and I was about to leave), they applied the "breath-tube test" rule to ALL - including the back office. Lucky I was... :p

A bit off-topic, maybe, but does anyone here have a clue, whether HOT beer actually helps against sore throat???
I heard that it "works like a charm", but it sounds just too yucky to try
Crap, having a cold in the midst of a hot summer sucks supreme...

Update... I actually tried that. :o

"Yucky" is an understatement, but it actually helped... a bit.

*to herself: for fuck's sake, it's only June and not August now. If I had to go to Wacken in this condition, I'd be unhappy. *
