What's the import rules nowadays, gnoff? I thought they had to get it for you if you go to a store and say you want a crate of DFH.

Well, they don't have to if it's not in the normal or the order selection of the company.

However, if I contact DFH brewery and ask them if they could deliver to Sweden, I can then "privately import" the beer.

Usually the brewery demans a minimum order of 10 cases though, so it's probably not that common that people do it.

Then the freight cost lands on top of the rest, including normal alcohol taxes, so in the end it would be lots and lots of beer of the same type, and it would be fairly expensive.
Meaning you (I) don't want to take that chance with a beer I've never trid ;)

If any Swedish import company has DFH though, you can first contact them and see the possibility of ordering a crate via Systembolaget.

If the import company agrees to it, and you accept the price, you can then go to your local store and hope that they will help you.
They actually have to help you here, but a lot of the staff has a magic way of "forgetting" or "being too busy" when it comes to these types of deals.

i.e. it's a shit load of work for them, and doing it is not in their usual routine, so they try to get out of it.
Just keep calling though and eventually you shall succeed (providing the import company still has the beer...)

But still, even when talking of a crate (usually 24 bottles) that's too many for me to just try one beer to see if I like it.

I thought that was exactly what they have to do, as of Jan 01 2005, even if it's not in their standard selection. Also, this "one crate minimum" is also an old rule, if I remember correctly. Basically, you should be able to walk into your local store and give them a list of what you want, and they'd have to get it for you. I'd better check into this more thoroughly.
