Pretty decent day at work. Or at least it ended well and that's all I remember.
There was this older lady who wanted to exchange her prepaid phone for a different one. As soon as she saw me she started telling me how she was glad to see me, because I helped her with one of her previous phones (even though I barely recognize her and don't remember what I did
). So I helped her pick out a phone, then called the carrier to transfer her number and such over to the new one. Then it was a waiting game - waiting for it to activate. In the meantime, we talked - it was at the end of the day so it was pretty slow. And she started telling me how she was praying that I would be here and was really glad that I was because I was really helpful last time and knew everything apparently.
So we waited. It was about 6:30 at that point and my shift ended at 7, and it didn't end up activating by then (usually it takes a few minutes but it can take up to 24hrs) so I told her all she needed to do was occasionally turn it off and back on and if it didn't activate in that 24hrs to bring it back. She asked me if I was working tomorrow and she was actually really upset when I said I wasn't. It was really strange trying to reassure her that there would be other people here who were more than capable of helping her. But I told her that her phone number was already showing up on the new phone so it would likely activate just fine.
(Sorry for the wall of text.
