Amusing work story of the day #2 didn't happen to me but to a coworker. Apparently the customer wanted to start a phone contract, and upon being asked to show two forms of ID she got upset and complained. Among those complaints: "...and what next, are you going to ask for a blood sample or something?"

Idiots.

Q: What if you don't have 2 forms of ID? I mean, I have an ID, but I'll NEVER EVER have a drivers' licence! (would be ridiculous, wouldn't it? :D)

I don't know the system over there but in the UK you can apply for proof of age ID cards. I don't know if they would work the same but generally speaking, when ID is required they are more than happy to accept a recent utility bill along side a passport, birth certificate etc....

Even if you do not intend on learning to drive, purchasing a provisional licence as an ID might be a good alternative.

I only have an ID, no passport since I've never been outside of europe and I don't have a driver license either.
Well, since I'm a foreigner here, I have a Dutch passport and a Belgian ID for foreigners. So.. that makes 2. But... the latter is not valid outside the EU!

I bet (for £1,000) that the autorities will NEVER give me such licence. Reason: I'm sighted. (10% vision) :ugly:

Wouldn't be such a good idea, now would it? :D:D:D

I dunno, a lot of drivers seem to go around with their eyes closed anyway.

I think I'm suffering from anmesia.

I forgot when Koldawne would come over to Belgium.
I know Alix is in the area somewhere that time (NL), but I want to avoid double appointments.

So... when was it again? After Wacken, if I remembered correctly?

Yeah, I plan to recover in Hamburg on the Sunday, then make my way to NL on the Monday, then by Friday afternoon I plan to be in Nurnberg to visit a friend there. At this stage I'm pretty flexible but I'd like to know what's happening as soon as possible so I can sort out the rest of my accommodation.

Hah!

And I'll bet the other form of ID she could provide is something like a bank card or similar  :p
