Well that's it, it's a matter of personal taste, yours differs from kris in this case and so some attendees would likely like the band.

Any new band with half a brain should realize that the "core' scene is already starting to weaken, so it would be in their best interest to "metal it up" at a show like yours.

We tried that actually. They apparently said they'd "metal up" for the fest, but eventually they decided to pull out because they didn't think people would like them. I would have gone for it if they could prove they could sound less core though.

Yeah.. Like I personally don't like them, but, I figured if they're willing to pay $400 to play a slot I will probably have to pay people more for props to them.

But, seeing they changed their mind about the idea, it's not really something to worry about.

It's not really a matter of personal taste, we all agree we don't want deathcore. Just Holly's more willing than me to make "sacrifices" to put it on. :O

Well if you don't have all the necessary funds to put the show on, you may need to make some sacrifices to see it through. And since you hope to come out of it making a little money or at least breaking even, a more diversified billing may help you sell more tickets, food, beer etc.

Well what I was telling Holly earlier was, I'd personally rather put off the fest for another year or whatever to be able to advertise it as 100% core free.
