Best, Nederland. Jetzt Belgien
Only sometimes.

If you want a laugh, find a college-aged American, and ask them if they can find Amsterdam on a map. And, have a map with you.
:D:D
Though that isn't stupidity, it's a failure of our school system.

Both.
It is also stupidity to not be interested in the rest of the world. Everyone knows the US, and most know where to find LA city, New York City or Washington DC. But the Americans "in return" don't even know the 'capital' of Europe! (Brussels, but it is not really a true capital like Amsterdam is for NL or Berlin for DE or Brussels for BE)

Well, a lot of them aren't really raised to care for anything besides video games, reality tv, their job and the latest celebrity gossip. They don't really know much about America either, I had to recently prove that Chicago isn't a state. Personally I find it pathetic, but I think it's just how they are taught. If they were taught these things in school they might have more of an interest, but lately the schools focus on socialization over actually learning. It kind of pisses me off when I have to explain who our own vice president is because the person cares more about who Tom Cruise married.

Epic Fail.

What else can I say?:p

Luckily there are also Americans who do care about the rest of the world, and Europeans who don't (unfortunatly)..

Yeah. I'm bringing a group of like, 4 Americans or something to Wacken. One went last year, three are new comers. Only one of them cares about the rest of the world, the rest are just there to make new friends and are there for the music.

I do admit though, if you came to the States and have an accent, you'd have a lot of people being interested in you. Most of them are interested in Europeans, not Europe or any other non-third world country.

Ofcourse.. they must have heard about our greatness.. hahaha, just kidding!;)

Anyways, I'm always interested in people who are nice! It would be cool just to talk about random stuff with people from another culture.. and in my opinion there are big cultural differences between the US and Europe.. (and between different parts of Europe as well, but that's not what we're talking about:p)

Oh, and by the way.. I have an accent:D

There are a lot of cultural differences. Like, nobody smokes really over here. I noticed a big difference with that.

:p if you come, come over here and I'll bring you to a DIY show. Girls will be falling into your arms because of the accent lol.
