Well loads of Linux versions work on USB, that's how I'm on it atm.

But I want to install it and make it permanent, I really like it. Only problem is, I can't yet figure out how to make the wireless work. And I'm not going to write over Windows when I don't even know if it'll work yet.

so wich linux are you using?
I know for instance that ubuntu linux installed all of it automagicly when I installed it from a CD.
And that was years ago already.
