I'm listening to Razor the last hours. Have you seen them at HOA this year?
Both good songs... but you can't compare either to Miklagard Overture. Just can't be done.
well you're partial to that band, fair enough, but overall, I think most would agree, there's many songs that are just classic epics. Metallica's The Four Horsemen is a Thrash Epic. Also far better than anything by Turisas.

Nah... thrash isn't epic. Unless it's Kreator.
I mean, I love The Four Horsemen too, great song, but I wouldn't call it epic in the sense of epic. Great, sure, but it doesn't have the same sound as epic... just the sound of great thrash.
My guess is that since you're a band person, as in marching band etc., you have a preference for Metal bands with a wide range of instruments, versus the standard bass, drums, guitar, vocals and maybe keyboards. Again, that does not make you wrong or right, just your personal taste.

Yea, probably... I think the difference is that I go for a more "full" sound rather than just loud.

well you are young, still have a lot to learn.
And the same could be said about Metal in general, not epic, but that would be the opinion of someone who is not very well knowledgeable in Metal.

If there'd be somebody who loves Freedom Call

well to be full, you really don't need more than the basics. It's all about composition song writing and dexterity.

exactly my point, it's all a matter of personal preference, no wrong or right. To many who don't like metal, it's all just noise.
