Ow no, it is really easy, if you have help from at least one other person but even better with help from 2 others.

I like those pop up tents, but I heard that they are a total nightmare to fold back into the bag

Don't know.
I got an easy one as well.
Just pull the coard/cord and it's up. Then the harengs into the ground. (but I don't like those things)

And easy to build mysefl.
