was a fun time though I was only able to meet raylouie from the forums here. Brutal sun but the temps were not that bad. A metric shitload of beer, both in Hamburg before, during the fest, and in Munich after. We were measuring time by the number of liters of beer we had drank that day after a while. Saw King Diamond was playing next year and thought, hell I may just come over next year since the early linup looks sweet. Then when in Munich on Monday I see its already sold out. Flight back was brutal, ended up being awake for near 48 hours due to layovers and flights.

Well maybe another fest next year but if I travel to Europe again I may not do the festival thing. Who knows. Had fun this year though and can scratch Wacken off my bucket list.

You might be able to get tickets when some can't say theirs, or with double orders being cancelled.

I think I might have heard you (or someone) yell 'hey raylouie! at one point while I was in my tent sleeping (or trying LOL)

I love Munich! our flight back wasn't too bad but we had also a 3 hour bus ride from the airport so that sucked.

Yeah that was me, but I didn't run into him that day. He was walking up to the gate the next day and I ran into him. We were in tent 31, where did they have you at?

Munich was awesome!

I can't remember the number but it was in the third row right at the end next to the path by the main ready to rock tent . A big blue one.. 130 something maybe. There were 2 big tents at the end of that row - one on each side. There were some rowdy young kids (Swiss I think) in the middle of the row, some Australians a couple tents down and another Canadian guy and the people across from us were Austrian.

I would suggest not ending with Wacken. You will probably want a few days to relax and sleep (especially sleep) after it is over. We took the week after in Belgium to come down :D

Well, I don't have a choice. My vacation dates are always in July. And going there with my girlfriend, daughter and my best friend, it will be a rough start if I start at Wacken. :)

Anyway, planning the get the rest of the week anyway before going back to work. 4 weeks vacation but only 3 weeks travelling.

Might be buying a GS4 soon.

Not because I love my current phone any less, but sheer curiosity to see what it's like. :o

I plan on playing with it for a few months and then trading it for an HTC One when it comes out for my carrier (Verizon). Really looking forward to that one more than the GS4.

11y old. She's travelling with us since 2008. We did Mexico(Feb 2008), Cuba(feb 2009), Spain ((Christmas 2010) Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona), France 2012 (Bordeaux, Nantes, Vannes, St-malo, Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel, Paris), Czech Republic ((Christmas 2012) Prague) and recently, France again (2013, Strasbourg, Colmar, Reims)

And in sept 2008, alone with my girlfriend, Belgium (Brussels, Tienen), Netherlands (Amsterdam), and Paris

We love the european country :) Next year, maybe south Germany, Denmark, Sweden or Finland.

You think taking an 11yrs old to a festival is a good thing?

I wouldn't do it, if I were you.
