it's still 25 degrees outside, and 29.9 degrees inside over here

Oh my goodness! It's actually here. Just arrived at work with my backpack, ready to leave at lunchtime down to Stanstead for the flight tonight.
I'm finding it hard to believe that tonight we shall be enjoying the delights of Germany and Hamburg, in readiness for Wacken next week.
Just a little excited!

My experience is that when it's hot there can be some thunderstorms. if that happens things will get muddy really fast and boots will be useful.
But I think you can buy boots in the wackenvillage. I know some people who did the last few years.

But in case there is no rain (just imagine 2004) - how was it? just dust? (I'm still a bit impressed by the pics of the Wacken mud )

yeah 48 will be a bit of a challange.

I make so much overtime that I have the luxury to use a few days just to pack and chill before going

We do have the luxury of a few days to chill... we're just choosing to spend it in Hamburg! We'd just be sitting at home wishing the time would hurry up otherwise.
