Its a bummer, if I was rich I'd organize something but sadly I'm far from rich!
Yeah, the little metal fests in Europe are more than we get over here. But hey it gives me an excuse to go to Europe!
Point is, can you do it!
I'm told security measures are sooo tight over there, it's hardly possible to do anything, without fearing a 2nd (3rd, whatever) Woodstock scenario.
I don't know about that, Bonnaroo is a pretty huge festival, I think 150,000 in 2013. Its a general music festival though, the odd metal band now and then. You would think America, with Mexico and South America, and Canada could put together one decent open air fest devoted to Metal. But in America it would probably be a lot of bands like Five Finger Death Punch, Slipknot, and Stone Sour.
Oh well, I'll just have no choice but to "rough" it in Europe every year or two at a great open air fest. Hopefully Wacken doesn't sell out in 48 hours every year!
I knew the festival climate is better in Europe than it is in the US. Once I saw a Q/A with the following:
Q: Why is the festival that late? (as in the date)
A: Because we cannot compete with the big festivals in Europe.
Having read that, I actually knew enough.
That was Progpower.
Sabaton was as good as ever. Awesome show.
