Oh right, that's awesome. But about the hair, long hair or bald don't really suit everyone. But I do agree there are some people who don't seem "metal" at all. Then again I don't know if I do that much. But I'm sure a lot of people who look "normal" are as big metal fans as some with long hair and so on. Times are different.

I don't know, it just gives the festival a different vibe you know.
I still enjoy wacken because there's always enough bands that I wanna see and some of my best friends come with me. But it's not the same as back in then. at least according to my memories

Yeah of course. But still isn't like a mixed genre festival. Imagine all those "rave" girls. Tank top, jean shorts, converse shoes and a lei necklace.

Yeah how could it be the same when it has gotten a lot bigger for example.

For one, I also think metal has become more accepted as a music stream. Back in the 80s, 90s, metal wasn't much "tolerated", and people thought they were just "useless longhaired thugs", whereas that generation is now about 20 years older, and has proven that they're NOT that kind of people. And that reflects to the next generation.

Back in the 80s, 90s, metal wasn't much "tolerated", and people thought they were just "useless longhaired thugs", whereas that generation is now about 20 years older, and has proven that they're NOT that kind of people. And that reflects to the next generation.

Except for extreme metal. Whenever I play it my friends ask if they can change the music. But yeah, in general it is true.

Putting down people who don't have anything to do with the oppression is incredibly stupid... And as the anonymous said, it will just divide people more.

Yeah there is still oppression and everything, but how is making "whitegirlsaintshit" etc pages and mocking white people in general gonna make it any better...

it's like people saying racist stuff because they are fucked over by the system them selfs. it's only plays into the cards of the people in power.
To fight oppression means to work together to fight the oppressors, who are always small in numbers.

wether it is 99% vs 1% or "the people" vs a dictator, the opressors all have one thing in common, and that is the control over the economy, and therefore over the armed forces/police.
You can not fight that as your own small group on it's own. you need to work together on an bases of equality.

though, I'm totally fine of people mocking about old white guys, because lets be honest, they are always the group in power, and I know that by mocking them equality comes one step close.

a big part of white people are oppressed, but not because they are white(like some white supremacists want you to believe), but because they are working class people who work for a boss (99% vs 1%). but that leads into a much broader discussion where I'll argue for an anarcho-communist system where everybody will be able to live together in an equal way, but I don't think this forum is the right place to talk about that
