Same in Germany, though 'night shops' ('Spätis') only exist in bigger cities. In smaller towns you go to the gas station shops ('Tanke') that will sell any kind of alcohol, all night, though often not to the best prices. But there is no general law that alcohol can't be sold at certain times.

Alcohol at gasstations is illegal over here. which is kind of annoying.

Yeah but you can buy alcohol at the restaurants that are on the highways. Right next to the gas stations that aren't allowed to sell it.
