never been before but looking at that overall sky shot of Wacken, that IS the campsite in the back of the main fest area correct? or is that just a parking lot? I cant tell. If not how far away is the camp area located?

Probably a bit of both. At Wacken cars get parked along with your tent (if you come by car).

haven't been to wacken last 2 years.

are there any important updates I need to do to the first post?

The bus is a bit more expensive I think, but I took a cab the last 2 times, so I haven't got a clue. And I won't take a bus this year either I guess.
This is from Itzehoe to Wacken.
Back was no problem.

Bustrips

Hi, I come from Montreal, Canada, I bought my WACKEN ticket for this year, and I'll be travelling around Europe (mostly France) for the month preceding the festival with two friends. I was planning to go there in train, as suggested by many, but I think it might be quite a ride to do it in bus with a bunch of metalheads.

SO, my question is : If I can departure from almost anywhere in France, is anybody aware of an organized bustrip I could take? I saw some trips on www.voyagenbus.com, but it's 139 Euros and up to go and come back, and I think that's FUCKIN too much for a Strasbourg/Wacken bustrip...

Anyway! Any suggestion would be appreciated!

Thx

www.bahn.de à partir de Strassbourg n'est pas de problème, me semble-t-il.
Et si tu fais ton booking en avance, tu paieras pratiquement rien. (€39/a.s.)

I saw the website. It seems to be what I'm looking for, as I could departure from Switzerland or Germany too. The only thing is that the website seems to be only in German, and the only German word I know is Gutentag :p

Anyway, I'll check for more infos, I think www.Metallian.net organized bustrips form France in the past years, so I'll wait for their infos too.

Rock on!
