Well, that thing in CZ is focused mostly on extreme metal, while WOA is (or should have) a good mixture of all genres. It is and never was a Deathfest or whatever....

I agree with this.But i want to watch Hammerfall and Cradle of Filth (or any extreme band) together.Ther is no good mixture in Wacken this Year.
I like all kinds but this year is total failiure

Und es ist mir SCHEISSegal wie ich hier bei Leuten ankomme, die ich weder kenne noch die mich kennen und die ich auch nicht kennenlernen will. Ich muss wirklich nicht mit allen befreundet sein und benötige auch keine ratschläge wie ich mich verhalten soll damit alle mich liebhaben.

Ich mag hier so ca. 10 Leute und das reicht vollkommen.

Selbst mir reisst manchmal der Geduldsfaden und das eeeewige Geheule über ach-so-schlimme-Bands war noch halbwegs erträglich. Wenn sich dann aber herausstellt, dass derjenige der mit am lautesten meckert, die bands gar nicht KENNT über die er meckert, dann werde ich halt auch mal giftig.

Hellfest is a little less extreme, having bands like Queensryche, Manowar, Dream Theater (europe... motley crue...........) but still awesome extreme headliners as well.

I have tempered down my judgement a bit. To me, it only misses a big extreme act like those we had in the past years (I already made this list a hundred times )

Well, it's not bad, but it could have been way better for a 20th anniversary, that's true...

Sorry, what did you expect then? Some sort of "reunion" or "back to the old ages"?

In all those 11 times I went, there's not really been a "tradition" in the choise of bands in Wacken. The only thing they had in common is the basic. Hardrock/Heavy and all sorts of Metal.

I think you can say Onkel Tom, Mambo Kurt and the WOA firefighters are tradition. And you may be glad they're still in Wacken. (o ja, not to forget the forum band Victim of Madness)

And like it or not, Wacken is in Germany and it is logic that German bands are more often booked as they're known in Germany.
