Headliner-shmedliner. This is an awesome facebreaking line-up - fact. Believe me - I prefer this line-up to headliners as AC/DC or Metallica.for me they´re no headliner bands.

I would prefer that to ac/dc or metallica also, although again I dont really like any of those bands or dont know them except cannibal corpse and Immortal lol, I've heard of the others but dont listen to any of them... theres a great qoute was said on here about it all being subjective! I really liked that (just can't be arsed going back to find who said it!!!)
But its very true, an as I said we have a great line up its missing things but even when its completed it will be missing things. As for the major bands thing, that was being said earlier in UK the bands that are Major are different. like over here No ones heard of Moonspell, warlock, sodom, candlemass, destruction, they wouldn't get higher than opening act at a festival, where as Machine head/amon amarth/ in flames etc would be quite high up the bill and would be a band that pulled in a crowd. depends on where your from an what genre your into.
An like I said before wont matter once your at wacken you will enjoy it
An if you dont think you will once you get there, then maybe your already going to the wrong festival!? Wacken has never had a bad line up yet, an this one looks pretty good already.sure a few other swould be nice, immortal and blind guardian for instance, but it doesnt matter! My best friends my girlfriend an me will go an have a blast anyway! lol

That's what I thought too, the word "soon" can be interpreted in many ways, it could also mean a whole month...
Actually jus to stick on the end of that thing about it being subjective, short of Immortal or blind guardian, or satyricon playing, to be honest for me the Major band on the current line up is HammerFall they're the ones I'm most looking forward to watching, just hoping they get an evening / night time slot of 90min, so can get a decent set in and see the stage show they will inevitably put on!

seriously i think Slayer would be the best pick for a headliner to make an unforgettable 20th anniversary show...
I really completely oppose bands like walls of jericho and BFMV. Bullshit at a 'metal fest' in my opinion...but im sure there are those who will be able to enjoy them. I really just don't want management to get it in their heads that because its sold out they can bring whoever they want that are cheap. I, and I know a lot of others, are fully prepared to sell our Wacken tickets...has anyone checked out the summerbreeze lineup? now that is solid! Wacken should be able to bring out 2x as many good bands! (including death metal which is severely lacking, and grindcore which so far is absoloutely unrepresented!)

there was an interview with holger in the mars edition of scream magazine(a norwegian mag) He said they had a couple of deal with bigger bands, but this would be suprise bands. They had also attempt to get metallica(also as a suprise band!) but it did`ent work out. I was reading somewhere else that they should try next year with them. And people could not except ac/dc at wacken.
