FIRST TIME AT WACKEN, WOOOO

After some long long long ass years of waiting for it, I will finally go to the festival this year. So excited!

Even though there are no "pre-pitched tents" left, I will almost certainly camp at the festival... I have yet to read the other specifics threads re. camping, but it shouldn't be too hard to buy a cheap tent and find a place to sleep if I get to Wacken on August 4, right?

Yeah it shouldn't be to hard to buy a cheap tent.
But I guess it also depends on when you arrive in germany, and if you have a bus that goes straight to wacken, or if you have some time to get to hamburg for instance.

I think I'll have plenty of time... WOA will be the end of a month long eurotrip, and I'll spend almost two weeks in Mannheim, Berlin and Hamburg prior to Wacken.

in all 3 citys you will find big shops for camping gear. So no problem to find a tent.

socalled "Baumärkte " offer camping gear during summertime. But often not best quality.
