Review/ Setlist von gestern / Stockholm:
Alright, second gig on the World Retribution Tour.
Venue: Löfbergs Lila Arena, Karlstad, 8500 capacity.
Got down at 18:30 or so, In Flames went on around 19:45 or so. They surprised me, they were very good. I still have trouble with the vocals, but the guitarwork was great. The Maiden influence with the harmonies was very easy to spot. Only positive things, especially when the singer said "You're not supposed to rant about your hockey team beating the team of the city you're playing, but I was here when we kicked your ass 5-1 last year!" That brought down a lot of laughs, and some booing too.
The arena slowly filled, but it wasn't sold out. Maybe 80% or so was filled, maybe less. A bit disappointing.
A bit after 21:00, the lights went down yet again. The backdrop changed and a red light, the Electric Eye shone over us. Goosebumps!
The Hellion went through the speakers(I knew the set beforehand so no surprises). I sang along to the riffs, but noone else seemed to follow. Dull.
Scott counted in and they burst on stage, Rob coming up with a riser. Awesome, I sang along to every word.
Metal Gods followed, it couldn't get any better. Rob first pulled off an awesome scream, I couldn't believe it, he went from looow to high in an instant, a change of 3 octaves or something.
Then he pulled of a nice growl on the chorus which put In Flames to shame!
Now, the crowd. The band was fucking great. Rob was happy like a pig in shit, KK and Glen were spot on, Ian did his job and Scott was übertight. But the crowd. It frankly, sucked. Most people tagged along for the hits(BTL, LAM, Painkiller) and stood there giving the odd horns and looking pretty...meh. Then there were the fucking trouble makers, two three minor fights that threw us ,who were there for a show, off completely. Fuckers, I'd gladly delivered a punch or two hadn't I restrained myself.

The best tracks were hands down A Touch of Evil, Judas Rising(awesome live!), Beyond the Realms of Death(Glenn fucking nailed his solo, note for note), Exciter(classic!), Painkiller(need I say more?) and Hellbent For Leather.
Rob's singing was a bit off during Electric Eye, he hadn't gotten into it, but after that he was awesome. He didn't quite reach all the highs, but he still pulled it off in an excellent manner. Smiling, happy, joking, playing with the crowd. Top notch. A pity much of his playing with the crowd was...a waste because of the crowd. The easy singing along like "Oh yeah? Yeah!", fine, but I fuckin' tell ya, there were maybe three people in the whole fucking arena that knew the "Fall to your knees and repent if you please!" bit from Exciter.
Pity they dropped Hellrider, but it only made Beyond the Realms so much sweeter. KK coming out to play the intro, Glenn's solo, Rob's emotion...ah.
They closed with a good encore, though I'd preferred Living After Midnight as the real closer, instead of YGATC, but thats just nitpicking. Great set, great show, great performance. I blame the crowd and the assholes who tried to ruin it for making me feel a bit...bland about it. The band did their best, they were awesome.

Ich weiss zwar nicht von wem es stammt, aber ich finde es hört sich nicht schlecht an
