IMPORTANT-Credit cards problems/Metaltix?

I paid by debit card, and had a good few thousand UK pounds taken from it from Spain pushing me well into an unauthorised overdraft. The bank phoned the same day and confirmed the fraudulent transactions. That was about a month ago and I still haven't got my money back yet.

How'd you pay by DEBIT card? That's normally your own bank account card? Or is that different in the UK?

I mean, I couldn't pay with my (either BE or NL) debit card!

My bank issues Visa debit cards, which are normal debit cards (ie. linked to your bank account) which can be used everywhere in the world where Visa is accepted. They also serve as cash cards

The system is completely different than in Europe!

Within EUrope we "standarise" our bank system to a EU standard. (incl. the UK), so.....
For instance we don't use checks anymore (or rarely)

I know the system is different, but in this case it doesn't really matter. My bank does the same thing with debit cards as the person from the UK.

Card details were used overnight to try and purchase something from creative UK for roughly $1000. I know the details were lifted from when the website was hacked because its pretty much the only thing Ive purchased recently on the card. I wasnt charged with anything when the information was released so its taken this long to be used. The reason I know the details werent simply scammed recently is a couple of months ago the card I used to buy the wacken tickets expired and new details were issued. When they tried to charge my credit card, it was still with my old details and ccv (check number), so they were automatically declined.

They really need to post it on the main page so people can take precautions.. The email isn't enough seeing I know a lot of people don't check their email seeing they get nothing anyways.
