I used the metal travel guide throughout my holiday and it was really useful even if some of the places mentioned were....yep
The verdicts:
Kelly's bar in Stockholm-great if you're into melodic metal
Tex bar in Copenhagen
Dead on a Mon or Tues night and we were only there for about 2 drinks and were listening to songs being repeated
Der Clohhard - Reeperbahn
Dark, filthy but I loved it...didn't really notice the music
Munich
Wanted to get there but I was dealing with tantrums
Didn't enjoy Italy as much as I thought I would...metal clubs would have helped
Vienna
We found a metal shop called Totem just outside the ring but stay away from the Virgin just near it-a waste of time (off Hofburg Palace) but it specialised in black and death metal which was useless to us.
And with the clubs close to or inside the Ring (where we stayed), Graffiti was the best of a bad bunch, but at least it was open and had music midweek
and it catered to both a goth and metal crowd at the same time.
In Paris we found some of the cd places (Monster Melodies was pretty hopeless) but we didn't have time to go to the one described as "the best for metal" plus it was the furthest away from where we were staying (a couple of blocks from Katabar which looked pretty busy for midweek).
Eventually we found an awesome metal collection (with power & traditional, black & death, and goth & industrial in separate sections) at Virgin megastore on the Champs Elysee. Quite surprising. We got what we came for and so much more! Even stuff that was limited edition and quite old
sorry if I let that secret out
Overall xpet! Your guide RULED!!!! Congratulations.
