Thank you for the words of wisdom. I think the reason people give so much credit to Westy is because of how much of a headache it is to find it, not so much the flavor.

It's a very complex beer.
Correctly laid down, and especially when having the last of the bottle with yeast, it can be quite nice, but not among the top 100 for me.

I'm guessing the reason why it's scoring so high is the difficulty finding it and the prize for purchasing when you do find it.
Then you've been searching for it so long that the victory of actually having it outweighs the taste itself.

Then again, it might just be that a lot of people appreciate it a whole lot more than I do. It all boils down to personal taste, as always.

Very well said. Cheers to that. Excellent penmanship.

sounds dreamy!

Let me know of any upcoming goodies :)

I found out of another festival happening this Saturday as well. A belgium beer festival at a Pub in Pasadena California. I'm going to that instead. Can't miss out on that. Delirium Tremens, Rochefort 8, St. Bernardus, some Lambic, and other tasty fluids all under the same roof. I feel like a kid in a toy store.

I'd go to the American micro, but guess that's because I genereally have an easier time to find the Belgian ones :D

Lambic is excellent though, make sure to hit all the Cantillon ones!

Last night Chimay Blue, St. Pauli Girl, Becks, Warsteiner, Old Rasputin, and Bud Lite. My liver is really doing it's job. Not even the slightest hangover.
As for tonight, Beer Festival.:D

My last two nights has been soooo filled with beer and mead I'm feeling excited even waking up.

Might try and list them later.

Speaking of which.

Is there any beer (that is free for sale here) that you want to try? (I mean, no Westvleteren for instance, or other beers, that are sold on unique places?)

And do you know Hoegaarden Rosée already? (bought a six-pack of it)

But I am updating the belgian beer list I sent earlier, I've had more now.
I'll send it before I leave.

I'm pretty much interested in all beers I haven't tried yet.

The better they are and the more unusual they are, I'm happy, but I'll settle for stuff just being non-rated also ;)
