Anyone going to Wacken by way of Amsterdam?

Dat is echt leuk van je om te aanbieden! Maar kom je niet uit België? Dat is erg ver om te rijden!

Nee. Ik moet (zeer waarschijnlijk) toch over Enschede.
Je zou dus vanaf Schiphol/Amsterdam wel zelf daarheen moeten gaan. Ik ga niet vanuit België naar Amsterdam rijden, om dan nog eens naar Enschede te gaan. Dát is inderdaad 'n omweg...

Maar ik heb al 4 personen mee in de auto. Dus of dat ook lukt..... ik denk het eerder niet.

Ik zou, als ik jou was, het aanbod van Beefcake eerder gebruiken.

Dat lijkt me net iets gemakkelijker. Vanuit Amsterdam (Schiphol) is met één overstap een direkte verbinding naar Duitsland (Osnarück), en dan nog 'n keer overstappen naar Hamburg.

Forumcamp opent op woensdag 8uur (8.00am) pas. We verzamelen aan de grote Edeka. (taxichauffeur weet wel waar dat is, en met z'n drieën is 't geen 13€ per persoon)

Valt mee. Is een gaskoelkast. Is niet zo groot.
Geen grote frigo die ik thuis heb staan!

Dat is ok! Met vijf mensen, zou het erg druk in de auto! Ik vind het niet erg met de trein

My cousin and I are staying in Amsterdam for a few days before we head to Hamburg. We'll take a train on the 3rd and head up north for one night before Wacken.

We're also Canadian.

Sounds like we're travelling on different days, though.
Now I'm thinking that maybe I should go one day earlier. However, this would mean asking for 1 more day holiday from work. I haven't booked my flights yet, so it's possible. Then I could leave Toronto on the 1st, arrive in Amsterdam on the 2nd, and maybe get to Hamburg earlier, too.
Hmmm...

You're right. I must have misunderstood. I took 'head up north' to mean around Amsterdam, not Hamburg. I get it now

We could always meet at the Edeka market (as meintioned before)
If you haven't that much, there's always one who's willing to take you in his/her car from there to the camp. (or walk, but it's quite a heavy walk with all the gear)

Sure, that sounds like a good plan, if we can do that! The Edeka is in Itzehoe, correct? Not sure if I would take a taxi there however, unless I meet with others on the way. The bus is probably cheaper.

Ah, okay. I've been looking at places a bit further away, as I don't want the high prices and street noise that come with being right by the station. Also, I appreciate walking after 7 hrs in a plane!

I'm looking at a place on Nieuwe Keizersgracht, Hotel Hermitage. Gets good reviews, and breakfast is included
