You keep on talking about disappointed people... all I see is 5-10 persons in this forum, that complain all over again. Plus, there are thousands who are not members and we don't know what they think.
If you like a particular band so much, I'm sure you are not waiting for one festival to fulfill your dreams. I've seen almost every band I wanted to see in my life (in a few weeks i'll be seeing Pestilence!!!!), I don't expect to see every band I like in one festival. What was amazing about Wacken the last year we went, was the absolutely flawless organisation, super sound, nice friendly people... that's why we chose this festival again, without even knowing who's gonna play. And we are a party of 5 coming from Greece, which means plane tickets, and car rental and room rental.
The Rockwave festival here in Greece costs 55 euro per day, it's 2 days (Monday and Tuesday I think) and there are 5-6 bands each day. That's a total rip-off so I'm very excited I'm going to Wacken. Maybe the next year I'll chose another festival in Europe if I can, but I know I'll have a blast this year. And if there is a day with no descent headliner, we'll get a chance to visit St.Pauli (hehehe)
So chill out and have a great time all of you who took the risk of buying tickets so early, and trusted the orgas that they'll pull a great festival once more! The others, just sell your damned tickets...

Absolutely! Very well said!

What they better do is suddenly announce a ton of great bands otherwise ebay is gonna be filled with tickets. I mean just look at hellfest in france, wacken better step up to the plate or this year is gonna go down bad and so will next year.

Do you think the orgas give a shit if people sell their tickets on ebay? Hell no, the festival is sold out, so why would they care? Come on, use some common sense here.

In my opinion there should be some more Thrash metal, Testament and Nevermore (two of my favourite bands) aren't enough.
I hope that Megadeth will be announced.
I need only one Runnin' Wild: the Airbourne's one! :D
And i'm agree: NO MORE POWER METAL, please.

You are an idiot! I love Testament and Nevermore also, but Nevermore are NOT a thrash band, never were, as for Thrash bands, ever heard of Whiplash?? As for the comments about PowerMetal bands, so far there are 4 or 5 on the billing, no, Airbourbe are not Power Metal, and out of a total of 60-70 bands that is very few. If anyone wants to complain about the lineup, BFMV was he'd never heard of Running Wild before, that's supposed to explain their status in the metal world? So what, now you're the benchmark for what metal is?

running wild is just unbelievable, i don't want to see them headline and im sure a large number of hardcore fans wont be able to see their last show due to the sell out, this is crazy.
give the hardcore fans a chance to see the legends that are running wild. and give me and a large number of a the wacken crowd a headliner that isnt a purely huge german band
Totally agree !

Making this german-top-band a headliner is great for german people and german fans, but a total nonsense for all the fans who couldn't buy their tickets ! that's really weird.
Sorry, but RW is by no way big outside of Germany. Is WOA going to be "best german metal fest for german people" ?
They use to attract people from all Europe (and beyond), this year with "headliners" like RW, Saxon, Doro (come on !) they address only to german audience. Too bad.

Yes, they are good bands aside (Motorhead, Heaven & Hell, ...) but thos are playing every other metal fests this summer.

Oh yeah I know I am a stupid fuck who bought his ticket before knowing the line-up, I know I can sell it (and stick my travel ticket up my ass), etc...

Making this 20th anniversary a typical german thing is quite surprising. It would have made sense to warn people last year, when advertisiing on the 20th anniversary, and when going loike "hurry up, only 10.000 tickets left"

Oh really ? I believed all the bands where german...

Seriously, I talk about the late "top acts" announced.
RW, Rage, Doro Pesch/Warlock, Ramma Gay. Those bands may be big in Germany, but have little interest for most outsiders.

Saxon are british, but I can tell you noone listens to them anymore outside of Germany.

Of course I exagerate a bit, but I still have the right to do so, I paid 130+ euros to get that pleasure.
I got owned, and I intend to benefit of it as much as I can.

So, to me, this is a german oriented line-up, far more than the previous editions. Too bad.

And by the way : there are good bands in the line-up, but seeing RW playing 2 hours makes my ass ache.

Edit : and even if I am not really a fan of them, Iron Maiden were much classier than RW... in my opinion, of course.

Edit : I would be really pleased to see Udo or Accept, so we can have a full 80s-german crap package :)
