With important features of music, it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm in the mood for something with complex lyrics and such, other times I really don't.

That's true, different music for different moods, that's why I like so many different bands and sub-genres.

My music I'll admit isn't too diverse, but it's spreading out as time passes. I tend to stick to 1-2 subgenres at a time and move on to another while still listening to what I already had. Lately it's been going towards traditional metal and some black, though I'm admittedly overly picky with my black metal.

I love traditional metal, probably because I started with that. I am also picky with Black Metal, I don't like the real noisy underproduced early stuff for example.

Some so called "Hard Core" B.M. fans would call me a poser for that, but I just like quality music, well played, well recorded. I don't care to strain to try and hear something good in a song.
