I didn't do anything in any of my classes for the entire year except argue with my economics teacher on politics.

lol very nice... we did a bit of discussing politics but not too much in depth.
I didn't do much of anything either... slept through mostly the whole semester... but in the meantime did what little work I did have and got by just fine. actually have the best grades I've had since elementary school this time around. :D

Well, my economics teacher brought politics into every lesson and really bashed people who disagreed with him. I don't like being bashed so I spoke up.

My grades aren't bad at this point. I'm surprised, I swore seeing my economics teacher resorted to calling me an idiot at least 5 times in front of the class I'd have a C or a D. He gave me a B. I'm just concerned about my law class. I don't think I did well.

I don't suppose it really matters. Grades matter less in life than experience does I've been told tons of times.

I'm just glad I'm out of that class.

What classes were you in?

yea my dad says grades matter for getting into college but after that, not too much...
now [well for one more day anyway] I'm in health and astronomy... German too but I had my last class and final today sooo no more of that.
last semester was a crapload harder though... honors government/economics, honors british literature, AP psychology, and AP environmental science  I was lucky to do so well last semester...

So you're still in high school then?

I've been trying to get into a German class in my region for ages. We only have Spanish classes over here and no offense to anybody who speaks Spanish but I'm really not fond of the language.

I did find a class in German today but it costs $500 to get into and is a bit of a commute.

for one more day, yea :p
yea German's not too common around here unfortunately... but luckily my high school offers it, it's a magnet school for international something or other... sooo we've got a bunch of languages including Spanish and French, plus German, Chinese, Japanese, Latin, and maybe more.
took 3 semesters of Spanish myself... didn't really enjoy it either plus I got mixed up all the time with the different verb conjugations

Grats on graduating then. I graduated in 2007.

German is actually a lot more common than a lot of languages. Try finding a place to learn Finnish or Icelandic.

The school I used to go to taught Latin and Spanish. The college I go to offers French, Portuguese and Spanish. I'm really not interested in those either.

well yea, it's a lot more common than those... just saying, not as common as Spanish like you find in most schools. and you don't want to try learning Finnish unless you really want to know it, it's fricken difficult :p I tried to start a free online course once, it didn't really work out...
romance languages then... sucks that those are the only options. the school I'm going to has a few German classes but not much... other than that it's Spanish and French.

Well I'm going to Finland right before Wacken, so I tried to pick up the basics. I need a class, it's not easy.

I'm thinking of taking French for my language credit, though I would prefer to get the language credits with German. I don't do so well in a class I don't really want to learn the topic.

yea I know what you mean... I usually do better in the classes I'm interested in, otherwise I'm bored and don't bother.
