Yet, there are (too many) people that claim that the bible (whatever it may be called for others) contains the ULTIMATE TRUTH! And they're blinded by it. Seen enough of them.
Go to Staphorst e.g. (NL)

I don't think it has anything to do with the Bible itself as their church in general. Their priest said this or that, and to do this and not do that... because of that priest's interpretation of the Bible... and that's what blinds them.

Reminds my of a Nekröfjørd (parody BM band) song called "Staphorst gaat ten onder na het aanschouwen van onze blasfemische baphomet, maar niet voor wij tegen de kerk hebben gepist" :D

I'd say they're "Raped by the light of Christ" .. which is also a great song by At The Gates :p

It's also not so much that as it is the fact that people will blindly accept everything without trying to understand it themselves. There's nothing wrong with thinking a priest is 100% correct as long as you agree with the reasons yourself, after questioning why and so on.

Then they're idiots. :o:D

I personally believe that religion and science shouldn't at all conflict. If they do, one or the other is just wrong.

Science is neutral. That's my idea at least.
That's also why I have difficulties with inquiries from political parties. That's the same.
But if I want to know what e.g. wind (weather) is, then I believe in science.

Well obviously. Unless there's a weather church that claims they get a forecast of the weather directly from God, I think that's about the only thing you can do. :o:D

No, but you get my point.
If you have an idea what the outcome must be, then you can't use science. You risk being disappointed by facts. (And I come back to that BBC report I talked about earlier)
