An egg is not synchrom in it's shape on the short side where an American Football has a synchrom shape, on both the long as the short side.

Look at the Superbowl. Next day is day off for many. You don't see that with soccur.

Yea, handegg is really popular here. It's like soccer there. Only for our super bowl, people just get big screen TVs, pizza, and snacks. We don't start riots like some Europeans do over the soccer cup.
