Trying to figure out what's so great about tablet PCs like the iPad and other similar comps.

Like... really, all they are is a combination of oversized smartphone without the phone, and a netbook without a keyboard.

If I want something that's portable but can't fit in my pocket, I've got my netbook. If I want something with a touch screen and camera, at least let it be able to make calls and fit in my pocket.

i agree i dont see the use of the Ipad .. i don't like it when they combine lots of stuff in one device .. i like my PC to be separate from my Phone and Music Player ...

That's one of the best parts of not having work or school.

I like it when they combine stuff usually, like the idea of having a phone that can fit in your pocket while being able to get online, play music, and use a camera sounds pretty cool to me. That way I could just take one device to Europe rather than a phone, camera, and MP3 player. But I think tablet computers take that too far and try to combine that with a full functioning computer, which doesn't really work in either case.

Well I don't make a lot of calls so I rather it be more than just that.

My current phone is just a basic flip phone, it can call and text. It can also get online and use MSN though that frustrated me enough to nearly destroy it. But it barely gets any use besides me texting Holly every once in awhile.

I also don't need an ipod touch, I don't have any desire to play games or watch movies on my ipod, I use it for listening to music only. So for me capacity is the most important feature.

My brother has one of those and he loves it. But I enjoyed pointing out a similar device that does the same thing but costed like $100 less.

My Zune actually does play movies in certain formats, and it has a few preinstalled games. I didn't really need it to do that stuff but it just came with it. And it's 120GB so I can't complain about capacity either.

Yea really. But I like the idea of a phone being a back up for when you don't have a computer nearby. Like if I'm lost in Europe and need to look up the nearest hostel or train station.
