I'm debating on whether to arrive in Europe on my birthday, or to celebrate the fact I can legally drink in the USA (finally) before I go.

i say celebrate it in the US (enjoy your new found freedom to drink ) and then head to Europe

Yeah, that's probably what I will do. Probably make a random show that night at a club with my friends' bands. They're all up for it.
