Try to talk ehrm write in international way in here...
Does each american know that pommes are french fries? I don't know that.
Well, I have high expectations of our American participants. So far they haven't let me down! :D
Hm... someone pass the garlic bread. :D

Nope. I do since I've been to Germany, but here they're fries and nothing else really.

Garlic sauce! Jammie!!! :p

Here: (NL) Frieten, patatten (don't ask)
also: (FR) pommes (frites), frites
and: (DE) Pommes.

And fries/chips or whatever are the national food symbol of Belgium. Fries with mayonaise!

Are you sure?
Sometimes I understand the americans better than the english...

its not about how they sound, its about how the americans have made the language too simple, where it is a complex and beautiful langauge which needs to be preserved.

and if you simply the manual gearbox, of a car, into a "stick"
it sickens me.

:D
would you rather call a motorised Boat, a "Go-Fast boat"?
No. I'd call it useless thing. :D

Well, what do you say to a "schuifhuis" (Afrikaans), aka the equivalent of an elevator?

For the record, I live in Flanders, but sometimes I don't know what they're saying here. Even though it is (supposed to be) the same language. I find Afrikaans easier.
