Well with this billing, the tickets will likely be expensive, like they were in 2008 after it sold out. I'd say buy it now, even if you can't go, you could at least get your money back.

Well I can't afford it now even if I were sure I could go. :o
And sure, right after they sell out they'll go for a lot, but both in 2008 and 2009, the tickets were going for 50 euros or less the few months before the fest.

Don't like Slayer!!!??? :eek::eek::eek::eek:

WOW!

I'm not overly fond of the more mainstream bands, and right now it's mostly the fear of breaking additional bones because of an obnoxious crowd than anything.. I broke my rib at Wacken last year because of Turisas being in the tent. I broke my eye socket and nose because of mainstream kids at a show I shouldn't have gone to, and I almost broke something because of Dragonforce (I hate them, I just liked their opener)

50 Euros? Are you sure about that? 2009 sold out early based on hype, but after the billing was complete, many people were disappointed with it. With Maiden, Crue, Immortal and Slayer on the billing, the demand for tickets will not likely soften

I remember seeing 20 or 30 at the fest itself. There were loads on sale.

I've never heard of Slayer being referred to as "mainstream" before. Yes they have become somewhat well known, but you would never hear them on the radio or used in a commercial to sell cars. And their contribution to Thrash, Death and extreme Metal as a whole is HUGE. when their earlier albums were released they changed the face of Metal. Nothing was darker, nastier or heavier.

Yeah, I consider them mainstream because of popularity mainly in this factor. I don't listen to the radio so I don't even know what bands are played on there anyways. I just can't get into them at all.
