True, but if you look back at 2008, Maiden was announced very early, it really accelerated the ticket sales. And withy the festival being almost sold out, they have no need to add a huge band to the billing, that's why i think maybe someone like Mercyful Fate. The night to remember is usually an older band, like Running Wild, Scorpions, Accept, Maiden, Twisted Sisiter...

you're right but at this point wacken doesn't need to do that they'll have a nice bunch of people again. but yes.. there's some names in your list that definitly worth a night to remenber!

Well it is already losing popularity here, it's more of a trend than something long lasting I think. Several of the bigger bands in that style will survive.
